About Piano Lessons Nuneaton
About Me
My name is Diana Tiso. My first taste of
music was, as many of us, playing recorder in first school. I was fascinated with the
melody's I was able to produce, and the way music could make me feel. My interest progressed and I began learning to play Violin, Flute, Guitar (Base & Acoustic) as well as my favourite instrument of all:
Piano, which I started learning at 11 years old.
Why Piano?
The
Piano
is my go to instrument, whilst I enjoy playing my other instruments, I find piano
the most rewarding. With other instruments they can feel more like a chore: arms aching, tuning each time before playing, the cleaning afterwards. With piano: sit down, lift the lid and away you go; magic at your fingertips!
My Playing Experience
I had my first
piano
lesson aged Eleven, and progressed to
Grade 8
in only six years! During that time, I also passed my GCSE and A-Level Music, I accompanied fellow students with their wind instrument and singing oral
exam
performances, played with several band's and orchestra's as well as performing solo's on stage at local concerts including at the Bedworth Civic Hall; earning
awards
for my performance. I also entertain family and friends who enjoy a good 'sing-a-long!'
Why Teaching?
I began teaching piano
to a colleague who had always been interested in learning to play, but travelled frequently with work so could not commit to most teachers who are looking for regular, weekly students. I decided to teach him when he was available. Within 3 months he had learned to read music, could sight read Grade One pieces and was well on his way to competently playing a piece of music he'd been interested in learning for years. Through him I discovered a new passion, sharing my knowledge. Not only did I find it extremely rewarding seeing him progress so quickly, but I found myself getting excited for what I would teach him next lesson, and so I started;
Piano Lessons Nuneaton
What Can you Expect?
I teach friendly and informal
lessons
from my home in
Nuneaton. I'm happy to teach any age and any level. The first lesson is completely free of charge (no strings attached) as it is for me to find out more about you; your music understanding; playing ability; what you hope to achieve and what your interests are, as well as giving you a taste of what piano playing is all about. All of this helps me to
tailor my lessons
to you as an individual. As I want you to have fun whilst learning, I like to get you playing songs you enjoy alongside songs that will improve your ability so that you look forward to your next lesson.
